Green Day @ PacificLight Power


To raise the awareness of conserving energy, Hong Kah students helped Jurong Spring residents to build closed terrariums. 



The objective was to draw a parallel between the plants’ ability to reuse water in an enclosed terrarium and our responsibility to be prudent with the resources that we use. 




Celebrating Earth Day in April

To commemorate Earth Day, our school organised the following activities:

a)  Exhibition 
Photos of Hong Kah students and staff exhibiting good habits such as not wasting food       and cleaning up after oneself were captured and displayed in the canteen to encourage       more people to do the same to help make the school a clean and green place to work
and play in. 

b)  Presentation

Student ambassadors made presentations on reducing food wastage, throwing litter in         proper bins and appreciating biodiversity to raise awareness of the importance in keeping the environment clean. 

c) Instagram Contest
- A contest to encourage students’ to involve in green habits. 



d) Read out of Youth for the Environment  Day Message
- The Minister’s message for the Youth for the Environment Day was also read during a morning assembly. 


World Water Day @ Jurong Spring

On 18 March,Hong Kah students helped residents of Jurong Spring to make Self-Irrigating Plant (SIP) from recycled water bottles so that they can witness how plants rely on water for its growth.             




In addition, the residents took part in a water quiz to learn more about the ways to make every drop of water count.









World Water Day Awareness @ Hong Kah Secondary

On 28th Feb, 1st March, 2nd March and 6 March, a series of activities were carried out to celebrate World Water Day.

The school's Green student ambassadors distributed quiz questions based on PUB’s water panels to encourage Hong Kah students to learn more about water conservation. 





To end off the World Water Day (WWD) campaign, the student ambassadors showcased simple water tricks to allow students to appreciate the value of clean water in our daily lives.
                                                              
                                                                                                                      

  
    

Green School @ South West - Clean, Dry and Sparkling Toilets

Class 2N2 students made posters to remind and educate their schoolmates about good toilet habits,




Dengue Free at South West

On July 14, 21 students from class 4A went around Blk 417,Blk 419, Blk 420 & Blk 422 of Jurong West St 42 to distribute dengue prevention flyers to the residents.


Green Schools @ South West - A community that does not spread bugs I

On May 31, 29 band members did their part in educating the residents in our neighbourhood (Blk 409 to Blk 416 of Jurong West Street 42) the way to prevent dengue.
